The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of North Khorasan visited the “Treasure of the National Bank” in Bojnourd in order to optimize the utilization of historical buildings and develop museum infrastructure.

According to the Public Relations Department of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of North Khorasan, Ahmad Dinari stated in this regard: The visit to the National Bank treasury was carried out on Monday, August 25, with the aim of synergy between the managers of the provincial National Bank and the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, and with the focus on examining the capacities of this valuable building for creating a “Museum of Coins and Banknotes of the Province.”

The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of North Khorasan added: Establishing a specialized museum of coins and banknotes in this historical monument, located on South Amirieh Street in Bojnourd, can be an effective step towards strengthening the cultural identity and diversifying the tourism capacities of the provincial capital, while preserving this valuable heritage.

Dinari announced the emphasis on negotiations to continue interdepartmental cooperation between the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and the management of the provincial National Bank at this meeting.

The National Bank Treasury, registered as number 14150 on the National Monuments List of Iran, is one of the prominent examples of Pahlavi-era architecture in Bojnord. This building was constructed with an artistic fusion of traditional and European architecture; such that the use of arched windows and entrances, tiled frames above the entrances, a gable roof known as a “Kolah Farangi” (hooded roof), and Corinthian capitals reflect European architectural styles of the 18th and 19th centuries.
