Investigating the formation of a professional organization for North Khorasan handicrafts in the provincial working group of related agencies

The provincial working group to examine the formation of a professional organization for North Khorasan handicrafts was held at the North Khorasan Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, with the presence of representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, the General Directorate of Industry, Mines and Trade, the General Directorate of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, the Chamber of Guilds, the Cooperative Chamber, and the head of the provincial handicrafts union.

According to the Miras-Aria reporter, the provincial working group to brainstorm on forming a professional handicrafts organization was held on Monday, August 2, with the aim of examining the legal framework, statute, and method of forming, administering, and operating the provincial professional handicrafts organization, and citing the executive regulations of Subsection (1), Paragraph (a), Article (83) of the Seventh Five-Year Development Plan Law of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In this provincial working group, the legal capacities of professional handicraft organizations and their role in organizing activists in this field, creating synergy in the education, production, and trade sectors, protecting the rights and interests of artisans, and strengthening the position of handicrafts in the economic arena were examined.

The members present also exchanged views on the process of forming a provincial organization, membership requirements, how to draft and approve the statute, the management structure, the duties of the organization’s members, and how it interacts with executive bodies and related institutions.

Ahmad Dinari, Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of North Khorasan, emphasized in this meeting the need to create a coherent and specialized organization to follow up on the demands of handicraft activists and organize the capacities of this field.

Dinari said: “Forming a professional handicrafts organization can provide a basis for more effective participation of artisans in decision-making, promote cooperation between related agencies, and strengthen the chain of education, production, supply, and sale of the province’s handicraft products.”

She added: This organization, after being formed and going through legal procedures, can play a role in protecting the professional rights of its members, providing expert suggestions, developing domestic and foreign markets, improving the quality of products, and following up on the issues and problems of handicraft activists.

In the continuation of this meeting, the necessity of cooperation and coordination between executive bodies, trade organizations, and handicraft activists was emphasized to draft the statute and provide legal prerequisites for the formation of the North Khorasan Handicrafts Professional Organization.
