At the commemorative conference for World Handicrafts Day and National Handwoven Carpet Day, attended by the Governor of North Khorasan and a group of provincial officials, three distinguished cultural and artistic works and symbols of North Khorasan were unveiled.

According to the Public Relations Department of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of North Khorasan, the unveiling ceremony was held on Wednesday, June 10 (20 Khordad), coinciding with the conference commemorating World Handicrafts Day and National Handwoven Carpet Day. The event took place at the Bojnord Chamber of Commerce conference hall, with the presence of the Governor of North Khorasan, the representative of Esfarayen County in the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis), a number of executive managers, county governors, and mayors.

During the ceremony, the “Treasure of Cultures” bag was unveiled—a bag that, through the use of iconic images, artistically presents a portion of the prominent cultural heritage, tourism, and handicrafts capacities of the province.

Additionally, a new image of the historical city of Belqeys in Esfarayen, featuring night lighting, was unveiled—a work that presents a fresh perspective on one of the most significant and well-known historical sites in the province, while emphasizing the importance of preserving and promoting this valuable heritage.

Following this ceremony, the global registration certificate for the geographical indication of the double-sided silk carpet of Duydokh village, Raz and Jargalan County, was also unveiled—an authentic and rare art that, as one of Iran’s handicraft honors, has elevated the name of North Khorasan on both national and international levels.

These unveilings, held on the sidelines of the World Handicrafts Day conference, showcased a glimpse of the cultural and artistic capacities of North Khorasan and emphasized the province’s special standing in the field of cultural heritage and handicrafts.
